Czech wages disproportionate to economic performance

14.02.2017  11:13

Weekly Reflex draws attention to the fact that Czech wages remain very low compared with the country’s economic performance. The average Czech wage stands at CZK 27,200, compared with CZK 130,000 in Denmark or CZK 100,000 in Germany. The weekly explains that wages are also influenced by other factors than economic performance, such as labour productivity, unemployment rate or price level. Given the Czech Republic’s economic strength and the fact that the country posts low unemployment and solid labour productivity, Czech wages stand disproportionately low, Reflex concludes.
