Danish ambassador handed over Award for Gender Equality at Czech SDGs Awards 2019

Already for the third time SDGs Awards have been granted
to projects in the Czech Republic that fulfil the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).     

On Thursday the 30th of May 2019 Association of Social Responsibility (A-CSR) hosted SDGs Awards 2019 ceremony in Czernin Palace in Prague at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tomáš Petříček were present.

Award for Gender Equality that promotes equal representation of men and women in society handed Danish Ambassador Ole Frijs-Madsen and Bára Nesvadbová to Monika Hromasová, representative of Mavimi project. Mavimi helps to connect women on maternity leave with employers that are willing to offer mothers flexibility at work.

Gender equality was also the main topic of keynote speech by Majken Gilmartin, co-founder of the unique world football tournament for women activists Global Goals World Cup which the Association of Social Responsibility hosted in co-operation with the Danish Embassy in Prague for the first time in the Czech Republic. The main goal of the tournament is to support UN Sustainable Development Goals. The tournament was held on Wenceslas Square on Wednesday the 29th of May 2019.

The Award for Absolute Winner received project GINA System. GINA System is a map software technology for computers, tablets and mobile devices, which enables its users to navigate through difficult terrain, coordinate teams and exchange information effectively during crises and humanitarian disasters.

The awards were also granted in the following categories: Business, Public Sector, Young Leader, Reporting and International Development Aid. Congratulations to all wining projects.
